May 2006: CAISO selects Power Catalyst for integration design work

Continuing its long-standing relationship with the CAISO, Power Catalyst will play a key role in developing a complete data integration map for all of the grid and market operator's operational systems.

Partnering with other consulting service providers, Power Catalyst will drive the definition and clarification of every detailed data element passing across the integration bus, contributing to the definition of the adapted CIM/CME standard for CAISO.  The effort focuses on nailing down the common semantic definition and the mappings between systems, and reconciling differing business and software designer views of the precise definition of each data element.  The result includes clear, unambiguous system definitions that are aligned with the FERC Tariff, and a CIM/CME-based data model implemented at the interface of each system to communicate with all other systems.

Power Catalyst completed its contributions in December 2006, when the vast majority of the mappings were completed.
