January 2006: CAISO selects Power Catalyst for public data dictionary

Power Catalyst signs a contract with the CAISO, the grid and power market operator for California, to develop a complete data dictionary and integration strategy for all of CAISO's public data delivery systems.  The solution will serve as an anchor for all public business information activity for CAISO going forward.

It includes a fully validated set of over 300 data elements, a common versioning approach co-designed with CAISO, and a common reference model integrated with CAISO’s master data model. The information is completely reorganized to align with hundreds of detailed business objectives, including user feedback.  Key drivers include redefinition of elements to align with the new Nodal Markets, and consolidation of ambiguous data sets into clear, well-defined elements. 

This project was completed successfully in August 2006.
