March 2005: Power Catalyst completes study of California electricity generation logging methods for group of generation owners.

Commissioned by a group of California generation owners and faciliated by the Western Power Trading Forum, Power Catalyst reviewed the logging practices of several major generation owners in the state of California. The study supported the generators' dialog with the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) addressing the call for standardization of logbook formats. The study detailed the use of logging practices, data formats, computer systems, and reporting capabilities. With this improved transparency into existing practices, the CPUC will be able to create less costly policies while raising compliance with its objectives as a watchdog for the state's industry.
