April 2003: Power Catalyst successfully completes its support for Simplified Data Solutions (SDS) in qualifying two Texas Retail Energy Providers (REPs) as Qualified Scheduling Entities (QSEs).

SDS retained Power Catalyst to develop QSE software requirements that allow REPs to act as their own QSEs and participate in ERCOT's wholesale power market. Through SDS, Power Catalyst also brought its wholesale energy expertise in ERCOT to bear by supporting two REPs to pass their qualification preparations and testing as Level 1 QSEs. By now acting as wholesale entities, these REPs achieve greater flexibility in contracting for wholesale power and ancillary services, to serve deregulated retail load in Texas. As a result, retail customers of these companies ultimately experience reduced cost, and may receive more customized energy services.
